Hi, I’m Heather Knight, Founder and CEO of Simple Advocate. I’m a hands-on mom of two, with a 3-year-old son, Macklin, who has Autism. As a mom who’s active at the “10” level (I’m all in), I’m deeply involved in every aspect of Macklin’s life — from school meetings, to doctor’s appointments and record-keeping. It’s all about setting him up for success. But let’s be honest… keeping track of everything, from IEPs to therapy appointments, can be overwhelming. That’s why I founded Simple Advocate – a tool to help organize, serve as a source of trusted information, and provide community support to families with children with disabilities.
Thankfully, I’m not doing this alone. My amazing husband works in datacenters for Facebook, providing us with unwavering support every step of the way. His dedication to our family, especially during this journey, is truly a blessing.
I’m also partnering with Kendra, a passionate professional working with children with disabilities, who’s currently pursuing her degree and license in this field. Together, we’re on a mission to simplify the process and make resources, documents, and appointments easier to manage.
