Simple Advocate Foundation

The Simple Advocate Foundation is our nonprofit mission in action — created to ensure that every family has access to the support, tools, and guidance they need, regardless of financial barriers.

We provide free resources and educational materials for caregivers, offer fully funded Simple Advocate subscriptions to families who qualify, and support community programs that strengthen services for neurodiverse children and their caregivers.

Our mission is simple: to reduce the invisible load on families, make advocacy more equitable, and empower parents, teachers, and caregivers with clear, accessible knowledge.

Our goals include expanding free resources, developing practical training for educators and caregivers, increasing the number of sponsored subscriptions each year, and building partnerships that bring meaningful support directly into communities.  At its heart, the Simple Advocate Foundation exists to make sure every child has a team behind them — because support shouldn’t depend on what a family can afford.

Foundation-Sponsored Access Program

Families facing financial hardship can apply for a free, year-long Simple Advocate subscription, giving full access to all tools, guides, and community features at no cost.

Applications are reviewed monthly, and with a limited number of sponsored subscriptions available, we allocate them steadily throughout the year to support as many families as possible. To be considered for the next cycle, applications must be submitted by the 20th of each month, with approved subscriptions beginning on the 1st of the following month.

The process is simple, private, and compassion-led. Eligible families may include those with lower household income, temporary hardship, public assistance, or a professional referral. Annual renewals are available for those who continue to qualify.

Because every family deserves clarity, confidence, and a supportive community—no matter their circumstances.

Terms & Conditions for Sponsored (Free) Subscriptions

The Simple Advocate Foundation provides a limited number of sponsored, no-cost subscriptions each year. To ensure fair access and responsible distribution of these sponsored accounts, the following terms and conditions apply:

1. Eligibility & Application

  • Sponsored subscriptions are available only to families who meet the Foundation’s income-based or hardship-based criteria.

  • All applications must be submitted by the 20th of each month to be considered for activation on the 1st of the following month.

  • Applicants agree to provide accurate information. Providing false or misleading information may result in denial or termination of the sponsored account.

2. Account Activation

  • If approved, the sponsored subscription will begin on the 1st day of the next month.

  • Accounts are active for 12 months from the start date unless forfeited or revoked under the terms below.

3. 30-Day Login Requirement

To ensure that sponsored accounts go to families actively using the support:

  • Recipients must log in within the first 30 days of activation.

  • If no login occurs within this 30-day window, the sponsored subscription is automatically forfeited and reassigned to another family on the waitlist.

  • Once forfeited, the family may reapply during a future monthly cycle if circumstances still qualify.

4. Ongoing Account Activity

  • After the initial login, families are encouraged to use their account regularly.

  • Accounts showing no activity for 90 consecutive days may be reviewed. In some cases, the Foundation may contact the family to confirm whether they still need the subscription.

  • If a family no longer needs the sponsored subscription, they may voluntarily return it at any time so it can be reassigned.

5. Limited Availability

  • A fixed number of sponsored subscriptions are available each year.

  • These accounts are distributed evenly throughout the year to ensure fair access for as many families as possible.

  • Application approval is not guaranteed and is based on demonstrated need and availability.

6. Annual Renewal

  • Sponsored subscriptions last for 12 months.

  • Families will be contacted 30 days before their end date to determine whether they would like to:

    • Reapply for continued assistance

    • Transition to a paid plan

    • Voluntarily discontinue service

  • Renewal is not automatic; families must confirm continued need and eligibility each year.

7. Privacy & Confidentiality

  • All application information and documentation are kept confidential and reviewed only by the Foundation’s review team.

  • No data is shared with outside organizations or with Simple Advocate’s commercial operations.

8. No Financial Obligation

  • Sponsored subscriptions are provided at no cost.

  • Families will never be charged unless they personally choose to upgrade or switch to a paid plan in the future.

9. Right to Modify or Discontinue

  • The Foundation reserves the right to update these terms, modify the program, or discontinue sponsored access if necessary due to funding limitations or operational needs.

  • Any changes will be communicated in advance to current sponsored account holders.

10. Fair Use

  • Sponsored subscriptions are intended for personal family use only.

  • Sharing accounts, misusing features, or using the platform in a way that violates Simple Advocate’s general Terms of Service may result in the account being suspended or revoked.

I'm So Glad You're Here

I’m Heather — the founder of Simple Advocate, but honestly, before anything else, I’m just a mom trying to do right by my amazing little boys.

Our story really started around my eldest sons third birthday, when he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a severe language disorder. Before that, when he was one, he was hitting milestones with so much joy and curiosity. But as time went on, his speech delays became harder to brush off. I heard that early intervention was critical, so we started speech as soon as possible (which I’m sure you know has incredibly long wait lists and available appointments.)

Looking back, I think our speech therapist saw the signs long before I did. I kept hoping that after a year of sessions, it would all “click,” and we’d find our groove. Instead, we entered a whole new world of challenges — limited focus, meltdowns, PICA, constant supervision… it felt like every day added a new weight to the invisible load so many parents carry without ever saying a word.

Then one day, our therapist said something I’ll never forget:  “It’s not supposed to be this hard.”

It shattered me. But it also pushed us into action.  From there, we saw neurologists, geneticists, specialists — you name it — and jumped into therapy after therapy. And somewhere in the middle of all the evaluations, meetings, insurance calls, and late-night Googling, I realized something that changed everything: yes, professionals play a crucial role… but the most powerful advocate my son has is me. And the same is true for every parent and caregiver walking this path.

Fast forward to today and thanks to a whole team of incredible people (our SLPs, OTs, BCBAs, RBTs, teachers, doctors, and so many kind souls we’ve met along the way) my son is thriving. He still has challenges ahead, of course, but every bit of progress reminds me that growth is absolutely possible when families are supported and empowered.

That’s why I created Simple Advocate.

Because I know exactly how overwhelming it all feels. The forms, the appointments, the fear of missing something important, the mental load that never shuts off. I wanted to build something that makes this journey feel lighter, clearer, and more manageable. A place where families can find tools, guidance, and support without feeling alone or defeated.

When families have the right tools and confidence to advocate, it doesn’t just make paperwork easier — it changes lives. And every family deserves that kind of support and hope.
